Coordinating victim services response agencies and victim service volunteers;

Identifying the needs of survivors, families, and responders to equip victim service volunteers with the information they need to support them;

Integrating trauma-informed processes to prepare victim service volunteers to support victims.

Description: The Sport and Special Event Enhanced Risk Management and Assessment course brings first and emergency responders, government, and commercial facilities professionals together to prepare or enhance risk management and assessment programs. The course introduces methodologies designed to complement and expand on national critical infrastructure framework guidelines. The training leverages a combination of exercises, discussions, and activities to optimize participant experience.

HSEM Training is excited to announce the continuation of NEMBA course offerings beginning October 2025. Please make note that registration for these in-person trainings will be made available through the HSEM Training Portal. To ensure you are able to attend, please review that you have completed all the necessary prerequisites prior to registering.
Required prerequisites: IS29, IS100, IS120, IS200, IS230, IS235, IS240, IS241, IS242, IS244, IS700, and IS800. You can complete these prerequisites by visiting FEMA's Independent Study (IS) course catalog.

Course: Active Threat Integrated Response Course (PER-340)
Course Summary:
This course is designed to improve integration between law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services (EMS) in active shooter events. The course provides law enforcement officers with key medical skills based on tactical emergency casualty care (TECC) guidelines that can be used at the point of injury (POI) to increase survivability of victims.
Participants will discuss rescue task forces (RTFs), basic hemorrhage control and airway management, and organization of a unified response. Additionally, participants will take part in a discipline-specific practical exercises that review skills in either law enforcement tactics or medical response. All participants will engage in large-scale practical exercises that tests all of the concepts and skills introduces and practiced throughout the course.

Course Description:
This course enables emergency management, response, and recovery personnel to understand, activate, implement, and use the EMAC system more effectively. The purpose of EMAC is to provide mutual assistance between EMAC’s membership when the Governor has declared a State of Emergency or Disaster.
Prerequisites:
On October 1st, 2024, completion of the IS-0013: NDEMU Conduct and Behavior Course will be compulsory before participating in any National Disaster & Emergency Management University (NDEMU) training at the NETC Campus. This course only needs to be completed once. This course will be treated as a mandatory prerequisite for all courses.
